MAPEI strengthen support to VGBC in promoting sustainable built environment in Vietnam 2020-2021

Mapei, a family-run business founded in Italy and a leading player in the building industry worldwide, has renewed its membership program with the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) as a Gold member. The membership and continued support to VGBC is just another illustration of the company’s strong commitment to social responsibilities and sustainability, in which the company aims to achieve a dynamic balance among the three pillars: Social, Environmental and Economic, for every community in which it operates.

The company has participated in various local projects, such as: Tan Son Nhat International Airport (2007, roof water-proofing, tiles installation), Doosan Heavy Industry (2008, sealants), Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway (admixtures), Saigon Pearl (structural reinforcement), etc.
Currently, the brand awareness of Mapei in Vietnam are known in 7 key product lines in conformity with ISO 9001:2014:
● Products for ceramics and stone materials;
● Products for building;
● Products for waterproofing;
● Products for cementitious and resin flooring;
● Admixtures for concrete;
● Products for underground constructions (UTT);
● Cement additives (C-ADD).
Mapei offer solvent-free products with low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC), contributing to a healthy indoor air quality. Since 2005, these products have earned the right to carry the EC1 (very low emission of volatile organic compounds) mark and, since 2010, the EMICODE EC1 PLUS (very low emission of volatile organic compounds-PLUS) mark. Mapei products also carry other voluntary, certified marks, such as Der Blaue Engel, the German ecology label to identify products that respect the environment, floor layers and end users. As such, Mapei products can also contribute to projects pursuing green building certification programs such as LEED, BREEAM, LOTUS, etc.
