In June 2021, SembCorp Industries, a leading energy and urban development conglomerate headquartered in Singapore, registered the SIS Hai Duong Logistics Hub project for LOTUS certification. The project has become the first warehouse project in Vietnam to register under LOTUS New Construction v3, the nationally recognized green building certification developed by Vietnam Green Building Council.
The project is being advised by the green consultant ARDOR Green.
SembCorp has an expansive presence in Vietnam with 7 VSIP industrial parks running across Vietnam. The company has strong track record in sustainable urban development and pursues the same commitment in Vietnam. In August 2020, the VSIP Nghe An Headquarter office building also achieved LOTUS Gold certification, with strong performance indicators such as 53.8% reduction in building energy intensity compared to baseline model, 39.4% reduction in indoor water use through efficient fixtures and more than 30% of the site area is vegetated, contributing to limit building footprint, heat island effect and increase site perviousness.
