It was a great honor for VGBC to be invited as a speaker by Phuc Khang Corporation and the HCMC University of Law for their event on April 10 with the theme: “Regulatory system on green building projects in Vietnam and some countries”. The gathering had a wide variety of speakers including experts and lawyers specializing in green building research in Singapore, Malaysia, the UK, and Vietnam. Mr. Douglas Snyder spoke on the status of Vietnam’s green building market and the larger framework of the World GBC’s seven policy principles for development trends to 2050 globally. Although green buildings in Vietnam still represent a small portion of market share, it is important to explore how creating a legal framework for green building standards and other targeted policies and regulations could facilitate green building development.
