Company’s general information:

VGBC is the national sustainable building advocacy organization under the umbrella of the World Green Building Council (WGBC). Founded in 2007, the VGBC’s goal is to catalyze the transformation of the property sector to meet the challenges of climate change, environmental resource impacts, and human health in buildings. The VGBC has worked to promote sustainability through its LOTUS – the local brand green building certifications, market stakeholder education, and collaboration with key public and private sector partners. At both the building and urban planning level, the council’s WGBC directed focus areas include carbon neutrality, resilience, circularity health, water, green finance, and equity. To date, the VGBC has accredited 285 LOTUS professionals, hosted over 200 corporate members, certified 58 LOTUS green buildings, and trained thousands of market stakeholders.

1. Freelance Graphic Designer

Job description:

The Freelance Graphic Designer will work closely with the Marketing Manager of VGBC to design the company profile and sale kits (for the LOTUS certification system, Membership program, Training and Education, etc.) that align with the brand identity.

Requirements:

  • A portfolio that features the best designs to demonstrate ability to translate complex information into clear, visually engaging materials.
  • Proficiency in using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Meet deadlines and be available for communication throughout the project.
  • Can start immediately within a week upon receiving the offer is a strong plus

2. Technical assistant

Job description:

As a Technical Intern at VGBC, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the sustainable construction industry. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will have exposure to various aspects of valuable research, data and ideas regarding green products, green building certification systems, etc, and contributing to sustainability development.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Research Assistance: Assist with research, information and sources searching.
  • Document preparation: Assist in finding and formatting materials, data and content for training documents to be used by technical managers
  • Program support: Compiling ideas to approach college students to talk to them about sustainability, and possibility of organizing campaigns for students.
  • Administrative tasks: Provide administrative support to the technical managers including organizing documents, amending contracts, scheduling meetings, and preparing meeting minutes. Participate in Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings and assist with logistics (invites and general communication).
  • Technical support: Support the implementation of technical analysis for VGBC projects, support the implementation of energy efficiency simulations of case studies.

Requirements:

Preferable skills:

  • Prior internship or relevant coursework in technical data support as well as in environmental NGO
  • Ability to read architectural, construction, electrical and water drawings
  • Having knowledge about or interest in Vietnam sustainability development

3. Green Product Technical Specialist (full-time)

Reports to: Research Manager

Positions reporting to this one: Interns (pending hire)

Responsibilities:

  • LOTUS Product Registration
    • Process inquiries for new product certifications (explaining the certification process, criteria, and application requirements)
    • Assist with contract processing
  • LOTUS Product Assessments
    • Receive product documentation (test reports, data sheets, etc.) and review content against LOTUS requirements 
    • Write detailed explanatory review into certificate description
  • LOTUS Building Certification System Development
    • Contribute to the development of the LOTUS Rating Systems, specifically in materials and equipment related categories
  • Training (secondary responsibility)
    • Potentially serve as a trainer in LOTUS certification (occasional) for content related to the LOTUS Green Product Label

KPIs:

  • Timely completion of certification assessments (maximum 3 weeks)
  • Assessments with commentary of sufficient detail and depth 
  • Willingness and ability to update new self-knowledge in material and building science

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in material engineering, environmental science, architecture, or relevant major. Masters Degree a plus.  
  • 1-3 years work experience, preferred in green building, especially with LOTUS/LEED/EDGE
  • Working knowledge of sustainability topics and, ideally, green materials
  • English and Vietnamese communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Excellent professional communication skills
  • Self-motivated, positive, and professional attitude
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Job details:

  • Full time, 40 hours per week 
  • Flex-time (weekly schedule can be adjusted to equal a total of 40 hours)
  • Remote working is allowed for 20% of the time. Meetings must be attended in person unless special permission is granted. 
  • Weekly office schedule – daily working hour 9-5
  • Location: VGBC Office, located at Alley 603 Lac Long Quan, Hanoi

Compensation:
