Company’s general information:

VGBC is the national sustainable building advocacy organization under the umbrella of the World Green Building Council (WGBC). Founded in 2007, the VGBC’s goal is to catalyze the transformation of the property sector to meet the challenges of climate change, environmental resource impacts, and human health in buildings. The VGBC has worked to promote sustainability through its LOTUS – the local brand green building certifications, market stakeholder education, and collaboration with key public and private sector partners. At both the building and urban planning level, the council’s WGBC directed focus areas include carbon neutrality, resilience, circularity health, water, green finance, and equity. To date, the VGBC has accredited 285 LOTUS professionals, hosted over 200 corporate members, certified 58 LOTUS green buildings, and trained thousands of market stakeholders.

1. Graphic Designer

Job description:

The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Marketing Manager of VGBC to design the event materials, company profile and sale kits (for the LOTUS certification system, Membership program, Training and Education, etc.) that align with the brand identity.

Requirements:

  • Sufficient reading and writing skills in English
  • A portfolio that features the best designs to demonstrate ability to translate complex information into clear, visually engaging materials.
  • Proficiency in using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Meet deadlines and be available for communication throughout the project.
  • Can start immediately within a week upon receiving the offer is a strong plus

Job details:

  • Full time, 40 hours per week 
  • Weekly office schedule – 3 days (24 hours) office time minimum, 2 days (16 hours) work remotely optional if desired
  • Location: VGBC Office, located at No. 11, Alley 603/54A, Lac Long Quan St, Xuan La Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi, Vietnam.

2. Technical Intern for LOTUS Projects

Job description:

As a Technical Intern at VGBC, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the sustainable construction industry. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will have exposure to various aspects of valuable research, data and ideas regarding green building certification systems, especially LOTUS, etc, and contributing to sustainability development.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Document/calculation tool preparation: Assist in finding and formatting materials, data and content for documents to be used by technical managers, create the Excel calculation file
  • Translate document/calculation tool: Create the Vietnamese version of documents/calculation tool
  • Technical support/Assessment for small and simple credits/projects: Support the implementation of technical analysis for VGBC projects, review some simple credits and projects, support the implementation of energy efficiency simulations of case studies.
  • Administrative tasks: Provide administrative support to the technical managers including organizing documents, amending contracts, scheduling meetings, and preparing meeting minutes. 

Requirements:

  • Newly graduated or currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Construction, Architecture, Urban planning, Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science or related fields in Energy Efficiency and Smart Cities.
  • Fluency in reading and writing in English and Vietnamese.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Having knowledge about or interest in Vietnam sustainability development
  • Proficiency in Google Scholar, Google Search, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and ability to learn new software tools quickly.

Preferable skills:

  • Prior internship or relevant coursework in technical data support as well as in environmental NGO

3. Green Product Technical Specialist (full-time)

Reports to: Research Manager

The Green Building Technical Specialist plays a critical role in reviewing LOTUS Green Product Label submissions for criteria compliance to achieve certification. 

Responsibilities:

  • LOTUS Product Registration
    • Process inquiries for new product certifications (explaining the certification process, criteria, and application requirements)
    • Assist with contract processing
  • LOTUS Product Assessments
    • Receive product documentation (test reports, data sheets, etc.) and review content against LOTUS requirements 
    • Write detailed explanatory review into certificate description
  • LOTUS Building Certification System Development
    • Contribute to the development of the LOTUS Rating Systems, specifically in materials and equipment related categories
  • Training (secondary responsibility)
    • Potentially serve as a trainer in LOTUS certification (occasional) for content related to the LOTUS Green Product Label

KPIs:

  • Timely completion of certification assessments (maximum 3 weeks)
  • Assessments with commentary of sufficient detail and depth 
  • Willingness and ability to update new self-knowledge in material and building science

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in material engineering, environmental science, architecture, or relevant major. Masters Degree a plus.  
  • 1-3 years work experience, preferred in green building, especially with LOTUS/LEED/EDGE
  • Working knowledge of sustainability topics and, ideally, green materials
  • English and Vietnamese communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Excellent professional communication skills
  • Self-motivated, positive, and professional attitude
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Job details:

  • Full time, 40 hours per week 
  • Flex-time (weekly schedule can be adjusted to equal a total of 40 hours)
  • Remote working is allowed for 20% of the time. Meetings must be attended in person unless special permission is granted.

4. Marketing Manager (full-time)

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS ONE: Marketing Assistant (Communications Intern, Digital Marketing Intern) Graphic Designer, Events Coordinator

Job description:

The Marketing Manager is a senior position with a responsibility to develop, implement, and execute strategic marketing decisions for the entire VGBC organization. This position also provides guidance on VGBC’s communications and sales activities for memberships, building projects and products certifications, and training and events. Thus, this position will be intimately involved in all of VGBC’s operations, ensuring that the organization follows its stated vision and mission. 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy – Develop (write) and maintain a marketing/brand management plan
  • Budgeting – Manage and reconcile the marketing budget
  • Supervision – Manage the marketing team
  • Stakeholder relations – Help build strategic relationships with key industry players, domestic and international government partners, academic institutions, international development organizations, and other green building associations
  • Market Research
    • Monitor competitors and similar organizations to ensure the VGBC protects its unique program offerings and coordinates or avoids any redundancy in services with other NPOs
    • Assist in monitoring and evaluating marketing related activities, as well as general impact of our programs
  • Implementation
    • Manage marketing strategies for both inbound and outbound channels
    • Communications for all activities, primarily membership recruitment, events, trainings, project and product certifications, institutional stakeholder meetings
    • Social media regular weekly postings (Facebook, Linkedin, etc.)
    • Website updating 
    • Brand image control 
    • Logo usage guide & control
  • B2C  – help grow new B2C services and outreach. Currently VGBC is a B2B organization, but motivation of the consumer segment is also key to green building adoption. 
  • Events
    • Manage external event participation, such as with conferences hosted by others, including booth design and display procurement
    • Guide presentations on VGBC and its activities 
    • Sales – Provide guidance on recruiting greater participation in training and event activities 
  • Membership
    • Develop promotional activities that retain current members and generate leads
    • Sales – Provide guidance to the membership coordinator on member recruitment and retention
  • LOTUS Projects & Products – provide guidance and communications development to recruit more projects and products for LOTUS certification
  •  
  • Stakeholder satisfaction – create and manage stakeholder satisfaction programs – mainly members and projects receiving green building certifications

Requirements:

  • University master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or another appropriate field or 2-5 years’ work experience as substitute
  • 2+ years work experience in marketing
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese (written and spoken)
  • Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to innovate: operate at the junction of creativity and logic
  • Excellent project management and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Computer skills, knowledge of web and graphic design is preferable 
  • Experience in NGOs and interest in sustainability development is preferable 

KPIs:

  • Marketing/brand management plan created and implemented

    • Traffic-to-lead ratio, Lead-to-membership ratio (sales funnel)

Working hour:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday
  • May include weekends depending on event activities

Compensation:

  • Salary is negotiable
