Duy Trung Garment Factory awarded LOTUS Silver Certification

The factory became the first project in Quang Nam province to achieve the green building recognition. The project’s owner, March 29 Garment Textile JSC, has been in operations since 1976 and has received many awards such as 3rd-class Independence Medal, 1st class Labour Medal, 3rd class Feat of Arms Medal, etc. The green building achievement further strengthens the company’s image as a socially responsible corporation and demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

Duy Trung Garment Factory is located in Duy Trung ward, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province. The factory mainly produces garment products for export. 

To achieve LOTUS Green Building Certification, many green measures and features have been implemented:

• Efficient air-conditionings systems with a COP improvement of 31% over QCVN 09:2013/BXD
• LPD reduction of 35.38% compared to QCVN 09:2013/BXD requirements
• Solar PV plant of 10 kWp installed covering 3.1% of the total building energy use

Water conservation strategies have also been implemented:

• 33.9% of water savings through sanitary fixtures
• Water meters were installed to monitor all major water uses and a water leak prevention plan is implemented
• 100% of irrigation water demand is covered with reused treated wastewater
• 27% of the total project’s water consumption is covered with non-domestic water (treated wastewater used for irrigation and toilets, and rainwater used for cooling pads and toilets)

Other measures:

• CO2 sensors installed in the manufacturing area
• Commissioning of the HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems performed
• Green operations with preventative maintenance, sustainable landscape management, pest management, solid waste management, energy management and water management
