A need in promoting energy-efficient and green building movement in Vietnam

Green building movement in Vietnam is not strong enough compared to other countries in Southeast Asia in particular and the world in general. India has 2,362 registered projects with 447 certified ones, equivalent to 1,813 billion square feet of green building footprint. However, this figure is rather modest in Vietnam with approximately 12 registered buildings, 4 of which are certified.

To further boosting this trend in Vietnam, VGBC would like to receive the support and active participation of governmental agencies, research institutes, universities and the private sector to develop LOTUS, consider LOTUS as ” third-party ” in certifying green building, identifying incentive policies green building development in the private sector, raising awareness about green building for stakeholders to make propaganda in green buildings.
