Last week, the VGBC provided Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training at Bayers event “GREEN SOLUTIONS IN URBAN PEST CONTROL”. Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Hoai, IPM training specialist, instructed the attendees on more sustainable methods for controlling pests, specifically termites, in buildings.
IPM uses a comprehensive approach to pest control that aims to increase pest control efficiency and cost effectiveness and minimize unnecessary use of pesticides. Using an IPM approach is part of the criteria under the VGBC’s LOTUS BIO (Buildings In Operation) system. The VGBC director, Mr. Douglas Snyder, presented IPM training certificates to all attendees at this excellent and well attended event.
