LOTUS Projects: Retrospective of 2016

2016 has been a key year for the development of LOTUS projects in Vietnam with a number of milestones reached:

• The number of LOTUS projects is now over 20

• There is at least 1 project following each of the 5 different existing LOTUS rating systems

 

• The first 2 multi-family residential projects following LOTUS are in process of certification
• A first hospitality project has registered for LOTUS

 

• The 2 new systems launched in 2016, LOTUS Homes and LOTUS Small Buildings, have both found a Pilot project

 

• During the year 2016, a total of 8 new projects registered for LOTUS and 3 projects obtained LOTUS Certification. These values represent 2 new records for LOTUS.
• Deutsche Bekleidungswerke Limited Factory (DBW) obtained the Platinum LOTUS Certification in November 2016, it is the first LOTUS Project to achieve such a high level of performance. 

• Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) achieved LOTUS Provisional Certification and is to become the first public green building in Vietnam.  

 

We expect this trend to continue in 2017 with even more projects tackling and achieving LOTUS Certification.
