VKIST Main-Building has registered for LOTUS Certification

VKIST (Vietnam Korea Institute of Science and Technology) is a joint venture between KOICA and MoST (Ministry of Science and Technology), containing laboratories and offices in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. LOTUS Certification covers one stage of the projects development, the main building, containing the main entry to the institute, meeting rooms, offices and laboratories. The project is also undergoing certification for Korea’s G-SEED certification. The buildings in the masterplan create a U-shape, facing out towards a large lake in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, in the middle is the parking areas, covered by a public deck and green roofing and vegetated landscape area.

The project is being advised by green consultant of Viet Land Investment Consulting and Construction Joint-Stock Company (VILANDCO JSC), which is known for its aim to ensure harmony between humans and the natural environment in any project they undertake. Since the beginning of the Green Building movement in Vietnam, VILANDCO has been involved to become one of the leading specialist consulting firms in Vietnam.

LOTUS is a set of voluntary market-based green building rating systems developed by the VGBC through long-term research, with the expert advice of specialists giving particular consideration to Vietnam’s economic and natural characteristic and existing Vietnamese standards and policy.
