After successfully organizing a series of events in Hanoi and Da Nang and within the framework of the 4th international Holcim Awards, Holcim Vietnam organized the “Sustainable construction” seminar on 27 Sept in Ho Chi Minh city with the participation of domestic and international experts together with students in architecture and construction.
In the context of climate change, current trend and the potential to be applied in Asia and in Vietnam. Not only did the conference share guidlines about the Holcim Awards to honor sustainable construction practices but also provide useful information about the green building’s benefits.
Together with sharing industry experts, Mr. Yannick Millet, Chief Technical and Policy Advisor of VGBC explained the relevance between criterion of Holcim Awards and LOTUS rating tools, developed by VGBC. Despite some differences in assessment ones: innovation and transformation, aesthetics and adaptation, economics and compatibility. Projects meeting Holcim Awards’s requirements are equivalent to Gold- certified LOTUS projects. It is one of favourable conditions for green buildings in Vietnam to be able to take part in a worldwide-scaled competition and make contribution into a sustainable built environment in Vietnam at the same time.
